Six weeks after being presented at the launching event of the JPI Urban Europe Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) the IRENE project animation clips is now available for the public.

The University of Twente research node presented the IRENE research at the CuriousU summer school during two three-hour lectures. The first session on “Improving the Robustness of Urban Electricity Networks” took place within the Smart Cities track. Another lecture – “Considering Risks Related to Robustness of Urban Electricity Networks” – outlined the IRENE research to the students of the Security and Risk Management track. By taking part in the two different tracks IRENE aimed to provide a bridge between research on smart cities and future secure systems.

IRENE will be present Smart Cities Week 2015 which will take place 04.03.2015 – 06.03.2015 in Salzburg, Austria. The symposium is organized by the  Austrian Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (bmvit) and the Austrian Climate and Energy Fund.

Smart Cities Week 2015

IRENE team members will participate in the Smart Grid Summit taking place on November 24 and 25 in London, UK.

IRENE participated in the JPI Urban Europe Projects Meeting in Brussels.

Less then a week after the IRENE kick-off meeting members of the consortium participated in the JPI Urban Europe Projects Meeting. It was a great opportunity to present the project for the first time to other researchers dealing with urban development and resilience.

The aim of the meeting was to bring together researchers and city representatives that are involved in the one of the 20 projects funded by JPI Urban Europe and to indetify potential synergies between projects.

The IRENE project has been officially started on October 1. The kick-off meeting took place at Queen Mary University of London on October 8 and 9.

We also decided about a project logo and here it is…
